Not much traffic to go directly south further than Mulhouse, so I decided to go towards the D83 on a little detour to get to Besançon. Slower but effective.―friki

Honestly, I think this is probably a very good spot, but today I had very bad luck. All cars were full or going other ways. Should work good when it's not holiday season on a Saturday.―friki

Good spot! I was asking around for an hour and in the end met a couple from the Netherlands while filling up my water. The took me all the way where I needed to go. I spent 6 hours travelling with them. Really perfect.I asked at the parking lot at the end, not at the gas station.

Good spot in general. Free WiFi btw. I asked around to go to Germany. And after 20 minutes a German guy agreed to take me close to Freiburg.1 male.

Got a lift from the police after they were worried for our saftey. One of us was in a wheelchair so there is that. perhaps not as good as it was, or perhaps more of an us problem. we got to go down the moterway with the blue lights on so that was fun!―Ryancomet

Quick to get out, some local traffic but our lift went well out of their way to take us to colmar. And the hills are GORGOUS. One man, one woman, one wheelchair.―Ryancomet

We had two signs one for Basel and other one for France, we wanted to travel to Bordeaux. I think it's a great spot to got to Switzerland. Two males.―tomasuv1toustik

A lot of traffic, but many full foreign cars, nobody was going in the direction to France. I stayed at the exit from the gas station with a sign and my friend was asking people around. Maybe we were just unlucky.―tomasuv1toustik

always tricky to hitchhike on a highway, but this spot turned out to be super useful and successful, coming from Strasbourg and wanting to go south to Switzerland. cars have room to stop (only) on the left hand side, and you can get a ride to any gas station or parking/rest place further on the highway.i got there by being droped on the previous highway exit, and walking along the fields, coming up to the highway right at the beginning of the exit lane.

There's a big billboard near the exit where you can stand in the shade after 13:00 (once the sun has moved).―Dervonnebenaan

Easy to get a ride because the cars slow down for the roundabout. Easy to get to Basel/mulhouse, not far destinations.―vincent

A good spot to start from the city, but many people go just to the Uni-clinic, which is directly on the next street―masya

I had a sign saying "Basel". I wanted to go to the Pratteln service station to stay on the swiss A2 highway. Got picked up by a guy driving to Brugg. He said he was going through Basel, so I took the ride, but actually he went through Lörach. Be aware that there are two entries into Switzerland! Make sure the guy is going the way you want.―Cabrita4
